What are the Important definitions related to safety?
Here we will understand what are the important terminologies are in the safety and their meaning.
Flash Point: Lowest temperature at which a material’s vapour will ignite if given an ignition source.
Autoignition Point: Lowest temperature at which a material spontaneously ignites without an external source of ignition.
Flammable: Capable of igniting (catch on fire) and burn easily at normal working temperature. e.g. Acetone, Toluene.
Combustible: Capable of igniting (catch on fire) and burn at temperatures that are usually above working temperature. e.g. Diesel, Formaldehyde.
Inflammable: The chemicals capable of burning
Non-flammable: The chemicals are not easily ignited.
