Hplc principle and applications:
HPLC is a very popular separation method used in pharmaceutical, research and development (R&D) to separate mixtures of components. HPLC is the process by which various compounds can be determined. It is the most suitable technique to determine assays and related compounds of the drug substances.
The HPLC principle concentrates samples by distributing them both between mobile phases (eluent) and stationary phases (packing material on the column). The molecules are slow to pass the stationary phase based on their chemical structure.
Pumps are used to move the solution containing the sample mixture through a column filled with a solid adsorbent material. Since each component interacts differently with the adsorbent material, the flow rate of the components will vary, causing separation as they exit the column.
HPLC is a technique for separation of components of mixtures by differential migration through a column containing a microparticulate solid stationary phase. Solutes are transported through the column by a pressurised flow of liquid mobile phase and are detected as they are eluted.
