How to Prepare 1M Acetic Acid?
The molecular formula for Acetic Acid is CH3COOH and the molecular mass/weight of acetic acid is 60 g/mol.
The density of Acetic Acid is 1.05 g/ml.
Solid Acetic Acid converts into liquid by dividing the density of acetic acid.
So, for 1M acetic acid,
Required Volm. for 1M Acetic acid = 60/1.05 = 57.15 ml.
Preparation of 1M acetic Acid:
To make a 1M acetic acid;
- Take about 57.15 ml of acetic acid.
- Transfer it into 1000 ml of volumetric flask.
- Add 500 ml of distilled water and mix.
- Dilute up to the mark of 1000ml with distilled water.
- Mix the solution and allow to solution to cool at room temperature.
